The Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education (BOSSE), Sikkim, is an open schooling board that aims to cater to the varied academic needs of the divergent group of students up to pre-degree level including Secondary/Senior Secondary, skill and vocational education. BOSSE is open schooling education board in Sikkim, was established under Act No. 14 of 2020 of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, passed on 21-09-2020, according to the Sikkim Act 2020 to promulgate and disseminate the open schooling education at state & national level.

CURRICULA AND SYLLABI

The academic curricula of BOSSE is interesting, engaging and easy to understand that not only imparts deep insights about subjects but is also highly effective for higher studies, especially in case of competitive examinations like NEET, JEE Mains & Advanced and other competitive examinations

The curricula of Secondary, Senior Secondary, skilled and vocational programmes is designed by renowned academicians at National and State level, including from National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), some of whom are at the forefront of their fields

Skill and Vocational Programmes of BOSSE are designed by industry experts, are employment-oriented and focused on hands-on experience to equip the students to become skilled professionals.

The study materials of Secondary and Senior Secondary are available on the website. Candidates can either download the study materials or study online. Candidates can also purchase printed study materials in nominal amount from the Head Office of BOSSE

HOW TO TAKE ADMISSION IN BOSSE?

Admission to BOSSE is hassle-free, seamless and secure; interested candidates are required to fill the registration form, along with the requisite Fee, with the required documents to take admission in BOSSE. This can be done either online or at the nearest Admission Centre.

WHO CAN TAKE ADMISSION IN BOSSE?

Anyone interested in upscaling his/her qualifications at Secondary/Sr. Secondary level is welcome! BOSSE’s Open and Distance Learning (ODL) System targets a diverse group of learners including school dropouts, failed students in Board examination, rural youth, working men and women and learners from the economically underprivileged sections of the society to obtain academic and skill-oriented Vocational Education.

WHAT IS THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR AND SENIOR SECONDARY LEVEL PROGRAMME AT BOSSE?

Any person who has completed 15 years of age can apply for admission to the Secondary Programme, even if he/she has not undergone any formal education earlier. He/she will have to submit a valid proof of age as well as a certificate to the effect that he/she can read and understand the study materials as well as write an examination.

WHAT ARE THE MEDIUMS OF STUDIES AVAILABLE IN BOSSE?

At the moment, BOSSE offers Secondary and Senior Secondary level programmes in Hindi and English. Other mediums will be added as per demand.

IS THE MARKSHEET VALID ALL OVER INDIA?

All our Recognition and Approvals along with positive RTI replies from different government universities are displayed on the website. Apart from that, in case you wish to enquire about the acceptance of marksheet in a particular institution or organization you may confirm the same from that particular institution.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A NEW MARKSHEET IF THE ORIGINAL IS LOST?.

Students must file an FIR and send a copy of the same along with aadhar card, pay slip of rupees 500/- and marksheet copy to contact@bosse.ac.in. New marksheet will be issued thereafter.

CAN A LEARNER CHANGE A SUBJECT OR TAKE ADDITIONAL SUBJECTS?

Candidates can change their subjects after taking admission and appearing in at least one examination. The fee for change of subject is Rs. 500/- per subject for Secondary as well as Senior Secondary programme. They can also take up to two Additional Subjects with the requisite fee.

EQUIVALENCE AND RECOGNITION

  • Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education (BOSSE) has been set up by the Government of Sikkim under an Act passed by the State Legislature (Act No. 14 of 2020, whose Gazette Notification was published on 8th October, 2020).
  • The Association of Indian Universities (AIU), has granted Equivalence to BOSSE, Sikkim and its certificates for admission to higher education.
  • National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), Govt. of India has recognised BOSSE, Sikkim and its certificates.
